Volunteering

Welcome New and returning parents.

It will be another great swim season! Our goal is to make this team fun for the kids as well as the families of our swimmers.

Volunteering is a big aspect to making this team successful. Without our volunteers we would not be able to run any of our meets. It takes a small army (87 volunteers) each week to host a home meet!

There is plenty of information on this website that will guide you through all the roles we need volunteers for (see details under Volunteer Job Descriptions).

If you are a returning family we kindly ask that you consider taking the Stroke Judge clinic. This is an area where we always need help. Without enough stroke judges we can’t hold a meet. Plus, it’s a great way to watch your child swim.

Our tent parents require a background check (fee is covered by SHRSL) we’re asking those who commit to the tent parent role to maintain that commitment for the entire swim season

To avoid confusion and chaos on the day of the meet, we would like volunteers to plan ahead to let us know their availability to volunteer and get the proper training in advance. Volunteer commitments must be made no later than 48 hours before the meet. If you need to cancel your commitment it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

If your child is swimming in the meet and no one from your family has signed up to volunteer 48 hours prior, your swimmer will NOT be eligible for the meet

Instructions on all the roles have been provided in this website for reference (see details under Volunteer Job Instructions).

Please let us know how we can make this a better team and experience for your swimmer and family. Thank you in advance for all the support to the Piranhas Team!
