Volunteer Job Descriptions
STROKE JUDGE – Stroke and Relay Mandatory Stroke Clinic is required

• Determines if swimmer completed entire swim event according to league rules and concerning the relay start, body position, arm stroke, leg kick, stroke order, turns and finishes.
EVENTS TRACKER
• Updates the flip chart to indicate the current Event / Heat to assist timers and announcer.
TENT PARENT
• Marks swimmer IDs and Race.
• Keeps swimmers together in age groups

TIMER
• The Timer operates a stop watch on each swimmer in a lane.Timers also need to help the scribe get swimmer numbers for time cards
SCRIBE • The scribe will take down Swimmers ID #, the event and heat, the times from each timer and records DQ from stroke judges, if applicable. Scribe can be backup timers, if needed.Once all data is entered, the time cards are collected by the Runner.
RUNNER • The runner collects all the time cards from each lane after each Event/Heat.They will check to see that all necessary information has been filled out by the scribe and is legible.If there is missing information, they must have scribe correct before they can bring sheets to the scorekeeper table for scoring.They also help replace stopwatches, pencils, time sheet pads, reading lights for the timers, if needed.
SCOREKEEPER • Once the runner has collected the time cards from each race, it is scored by the scorekeepers.
1st scorekeepers determines the placement (1st , 2nd, 3rd, etc.) based on the times on the time cards.
2nd scorekeepers records and tallies up the scores earned from heat 1 on Meet Score Sheet.
The time cards are then passed over to the Ribbons Presenters.
RIBBON PRESENTER • After the time cards have been scored the ribbon presenters will pass out ribbons to the swimmers according to the race results (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc...).Once ribbons have been distributed to the swimmers the time cards are passed over to the Data Entry Table for input into the computer.
DATA ENTRY • Once ribbons are presented, the data entry table will record each swimmer’s time into the computer.
CONCESSION WORKER
Only needed for Home meets
• Helps sell food to the swimmers and parents at each home meet
• Helps with set up and clean-up of the concession area
EVENT TRACKER • Flips Event and Heat cards poolside as well as updating the swimtopia app as the meet progresses.
